Good and bad things happened let’s have a Rave – Rant – Rave etc … to keep in style with this blog.

Rave — iPod touch owners can add more apps for a price — $19.99
I wrote a blog post a few weeks ago about my new iTouch and the items I felt it were missing ….

“I like my new toy, but I can’t help but feel that something is missing, maybe its the phone bit, maybe it would be nice to have an email client on there, maybe it would be nice to have internet features that I have on my t-mobile dash, maybe a camera, I can’t really put my finger on it yet but do like it.”

Here is what you will get in exchange for the update fee: five new mobile apps that match those already on the iPhone. Mail, Maps, Stocks, Weather, and Notes features, essentially giving the music player the same capabilities as the iPhone, with the notable exception of calling features. However, to use the maps you will need to be in a WIFI enabled area.

Im downloading the new features as im writing this.

Rant — Apple introduces MacBook Air, starting at $1,799 and will be available within two weeks.

Come on I just spent 2.5k on an Apple laptop about 3 months ago. I do not know when I will get a chane to get another; I have been told that these machines last forever.

Rave — iTunes movie rentals.

A new feature of the iTunes Store that enables users to download movies and watch them for a short time rather than having to buy them. Movie rentals will be priced at $3.99 for new releases and $2.99 for older films. High Definition (HD) movies will be downloadable only via Apple TV and will cost $4.99 for new releases and $3.99 for older films.

I like this idea as I always forget to bring the movie back.

Rave — Apple expanded the iPhone’s capabilities Tuesday with a free software update that adds a location finder to the Maps feature, customized home screens, multi-person SMS chats, and the ability to add Web sites to the home screen. In addition, video playback on the phone has been enhanced, with support for chapters, subtitles and languages, and lyrics support has been added for music tracks.

Ouch! I wonder how the hacked iPhone users are going to feel about this. I would actually go and buy one for the location finder feature, as an account manager out on the road I got lost quite a few times butI got a GPS system for the car.

So I guess the bottom line here is either research what apple is up too so you’re not disappointed when they release a slimmer cooler more feature rich version a month after you buy it. I’m stumbling in the joy that I got a few new icons to fill up my empty screen for $20.

I now think I know what was missing — so im off now to play as the download has finished.
