I’m always excited when I learn about new software tools I can use, but especially so when they are ‘in the cloud’.  Part of it is I just like saying ‘in the cloud’. I came across (beta) today and wanted to share it with everyone.

Those of your already familiar with Adobe’s online applications, will be comfortable with it’s look and feel.  It’s interesting to not that adobe’s online offerings are the antithesis to google’s in terms of design and esthetics.  I like both but there is something appealing about the rich environment that adobe is able to present.  Drop shadows and gradients galore.

Adobe lacks a method for users to create documents (comming soon), presentations or spreadsheets from scratch however it allows for a very robust communication and collaboration environment.  Companies pay big bucks to use what used to be Macromedia Breeze (now Adobe Connect), to allow for voice/video conferencing, desktop sharing, chat, white boarding and more.  In fact we use it our a lot of our sales, staff and client meetings.  In a very limited capacity you can now have the very same functionality for your own personal use.  This will come in very handy when providing tech support for my entire family. I can even start having training sessions in the hopes of keeping them from calling.

Other highlights are the ability to create a pdf out of common file formats online.  Now you don’t have to worry about relying on the computer your using to have the ability to print to pdf.  Sharing and organizing files online is another great plus, although by no means unique.  Don’t let the name fool you. Adobe is not just joining the game but also stepping it up a notch.
