BAE Systems has recently announced plans to expand into Sterling Heights Michigan. With this new location, BAE plans to have over 200 new employees by the end of 2008 and over 460 employees at this facility in the next five years. This is a plan that the Sterling Heights community can certainly be happy about. With national news constantly addressing US job losses and daily business struggles, it is certainly nice to hear news about a US Company providing opportunities for good jobs to boost an ailing regional economy. At this new location, BAE is seeking automotive and systems engineers, procurement and quality managers and other high-paying jobs to help boost the depressed job market. BAE Systems is a global company engaged in the development, delivery and support of advanced defense and aerospace systems in the air, on land and at sea. A few months after 352 Media started working with Armor Holdings in Jacksonville, Florida, Armor Holdings was acquired by BAE Systems. Since our first meeting with Armor Holdings in the summer of 2007, we have taken on 6 major web projects with more projects targeted in the near future. Although the name has changed, the people have not nor has the level of support that we are providing the BAE Products Groups. In the coming months, please look out for the great new Protech Tactical, Protech Corrections, SAVVY, American Body Armor and Second Chance Armor Web sites.
The BAE facility opening comes at the heels of 352 Media’s expansion into the Michigan market. Last year, friend, colleague and an unbelievable salesperson, Declan O’Neill left our Gainesville, Florida office set out for the Great White North and opened our Ann Arbor Michigan office. A move that has proven good for Declan, 352 Media, and Ann Arbor. Thanks to BAE, it looks like Declan will have some more friends moving into his neck of the woods.
