Warning: Shameless Plug Below!

Another year, another addy awards banquet.

We’ve always done well at the Addy Awards, the advertising industry’s premier industry competition.  You enter your work first in the local market, then winners compete at the district level, and finally at the national level.  This past friday was our local competition…the first step towards world domination!

We entered a handful of projects from Web sites to video presentations to some of our own, self promotion pieces.  The mood among the staff wasn’t too hopeful this year.  You’re always your own worst critic, and we weren’t sure how we’d fare.

Well, we did great!  First off, we won an award we didn’t even enter!  You see, one of our local clients entered their own site that we developed, crediting us for the design.  So at that point, we were one for zero.  Pretty good percentage!

From there is was all gravy.  We ended up with 5 more Silver Addy’s, and 5 Golds.  The night ends with the best in show awards, split up by category.  At this point, we were just so happy, but didn’t expect what came next.  In the best in show electronic division, we were nominated twice out of three projects!  First was our design for the University of Florida’s Genetics Department.  Great site with some great photography!  Our other nominee was actually for yours truly along with Geoff, our CEO, on our company page of our Web site.  It got a bunch of laughs, all at the spots we intended, when they showed it off on the big screen.  And it took home the prize of Best in Show!

That marks the fourth straight year we’ve won either best in show or the judges award!  What a streak.

So now we will try our luck at the district level.  Keep your fingers crossed for us!

End Shameless Plug.
